Wonderful Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! We certainly did! This Thanksgiving was so much better than last year's, where I just wanted to cry all day because it was my first one away from my family. It was a very uneventful one last year, so I just sat around thinking about what my family was doing while I wasn't there. But this year was different. I spent it in a really random, but very cool place...Memphis, Tennessee! It was a long drive, but it was worth it to see my sister in law and her new little family :) We met our 3 week old nephew who is just absolutely precious! We fell in love with him the minute we saw him. It was nice to spend alot of time with him, his parents, aunt, uncle, and grandparents. It was just an all around nice and relaxing day.

We were really glad to be in Memphis for Black Friday...there was much much better shopping than we have here in Parkersburg...the best places being TARGET, THE DISNEY STORE, and MICHAELS! :) :) We got some amazing deals and put a large dent in our Christmas shopping.

We also took a trip to Graceland. I have been there a few times before, but this was Caleb's first time. It was really pretty lit up for Christmas! Caleb was like a kid at Christmas, he was so excited for this! Now, its back to work and the real world...yay! haha

5 Hundred, 25 Thousand, 600 Minutes...

Soooo, it's been a busy week so far. I've worked a ton more than usual, which is great financially, but not so great because I am wiped. However, I am super SUPER excited for the weekend to come, because....I'm going to see RENT!!! I know its just a little community theater and probably nothing compared to the Broadway play, but i dont care! I'm still excited!! :) :)

Nothing else new...its cold and rainy and just blah weather this week. It's made going to work even harder cause all I wanna do is snuggle in my bed and read, or watch movies.

That's about all I've got tonight.

Retreat Weekend

This weekend I went on a ladies retreat. It was the first one I've been on with the church, and its been a reallllll long time since I've been on one period. I was nervous, really nervous. I'm not a huge fan of leaving my husband behind and spending the night away, but I knew that once I went, I would enjoy it. Taking that step and actually going was the hard part. And I did have a pretty good time with some ladies that I don't spend a whole lot of time with. I enjoyed being with them and getting to know them a bit better. However, I was glad that it was only one night. We stayed in what was called a "dorm", but really....a bunch of cabins connected. We had electric and heat and all, but apparently we forgot to turn it on. Yea, definitely froze all night long! Haha. We didn't do too much as far as retreats go. Listened to 2 half hour talks from a lady, ate a bunch of food, sang, did some yoga and played a few games. The place it was held was really pretty and I wish I had taken my camera.

I think I am going to try doing yoga some. After going through the session, I felt so relaxed and I think it'd be a good thing to do at night to help me to sleep better. I thought for sure I'd be hurting later, but surprisingly I wasn't. We have it on the Wii, so I can do it in the comfort of my own house. Less embarassing that way haha.

That's about all I've got. Real profound, huh? Maybe I'll be more creative tomorrow...just maybe. Oh, and I absolutely adore this picture, taken by Amanda, the wonderful photographer! If Buckeye were in it, it'd be the perfect picture for a Christmas card! Minus the whole not being anything Christmasy part. Ha!

First one!

So I have decided to try this whole blogging thing again. I kinda miss the days of Xanga and being able to just write about things and keep up with people and life. I still enjoy going back and reading my old posts on there and just thinking about what was going on in my life at that time. Journaling is a great way to do just that, keep track of life :)

So, at this point I've had many life changes. Married, moved to WV permanently, and loving it all. While there are a good amount of people that I miss in NJ, and other places as well, I am also enjoying life here. I live 5 mins away from one of my bestest friends, and have lots of other great friends around as well. Family is far away, but at least we have wonderful friends to fill that void :) I also have become an Aunt, not one, not two, not three, but four times! It's so weird to think about, that i'm old enough to have 3 nieces and a nephew, but its so much fun! It's really cool to think about what my aunts and uncles felt like when we all entered the world. The newest one is just 5 days old :)

The job front is ok...not the most consistent job in the world, but at least I enjoy doing it (mostly). Its way better this year than it was last year. I have been working at least 2-4 days a week, which is a huge step up. Thank goodness too, because sitting at home all day everyday was getting quite old.

We also got a cute puppy last Christmas and he is just the sweetest thing! We love him so much, he has been a great addition to our little family. He is papillon and toy fox terrier. We are thoroughly enjoying our house and making it our own. I think its cute and I'm set on living in it for a good long while, but I think Caleb has other ideas. We will see what happens with that. :)

So that's life in a nutshell....More to come (hopefully)!
